Nature of the Work 

Passionate about coffee and relationships? Discover the job of a barista, which involves preparing delicious recipes for Starbucks-branded beverages. Baristas interact directly with customers, create memorable moments and work together to create a welcoming environment. 

Tasks 

As a barista, you will perform a multitude of tasks. You must be able to move quickly from one activity to the next. 

Setting up:

  • Open the facility

Take orders:

  • Describe different beverages to customers and suggest beverages
  • Take into account the expectations and constraints of the customers 
  • Write down the order and enter it in the system  
  • Process and collect payment

Food and Beverage Service:

  • Produce quality beverages, ground coffee and food continuously for all customers following established recipes and standards 
  • Follow Starbucks operational procedures and policies, (cash handling, occupational health and safety)  
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area  

Customer Relations:

  • Act with integrity, honesty and knowledge to promote Starbucks culture, values and mission  
  • Demonstrate composure during high traffic periods or unusual events
  • Anticipate customer and store needs by constantly assessing the environment and customers for indicators
  • Communicate information to the Manager so that the team can take action and create the ideal environment for each shift

Closing the store:

  • Redesign store set up as needed for the next shift
  • Pack and put away food
  • Tidy and maintain work areas and some equipment
  • Report missing products to supervisor

Schedules 

There are many possibilities: days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Constant or variable schedule according to your needs and our needs, we are flexible; the baristas we are looking for at this time can be full time or part time to do between 20 and 40 hours / week. 

Remuneration and benefits 

  • Salary : 13.50$ per hour 
  • Group insurance of which 50% is covered by the company (with an average of 25 hours per week) 
  • Uniform provided and maintained  
  • One free drink per shift 
  • Discounts on certain services/amenities, including 25% off our Starbucks store
